Easter with our small group!

Just one more Easter catch-up post!

We had a lovely Easter dinner with friends from our Sunday night small group.  Good food, good friends, good times...  :)  The majority of my photos from the evening are of the kiddos -- they're just such fun models!

Hope you all had as lovely of an Easter as we did!

A family Easter photo

One of the many reasons why I was looking forward to this year's Easter activities was because I was determined to get a halfway decent photo of the three of us all together.  As you may recall, this was the one and only Easter family photo we got last year:

While, of course, we all look fabulous, it does leave a little something to be desired...  :)  Just for the record, Joshua was looking super cute last year in his Easter outfit:

Look at how tiny he was!!

He was definitely just as cute, and even more dapper, this year:

(In shorts later in the day, since it got so warm!)

So I was aiming for a photo of the three of us, and just hoping to have all of us at least kind of looking at the camera.  And also hoping that none of us would be eating bagels at the time.  I set my expectations super low this year.  :)

We handed the camera off to Dan H., and asked him just to snap a few shots while Joshua was in a relatively good mood.  But as soon as we started trying to get him to look at the camera, a swarm of students surrounded Dan and did all manner of hilarious ridiculousness in an attempt to coax a smile out of our little guy.  He was a little bemused at first, I think, but then he decided it was the funniest thing ever and GRINNED his heart out at all his silly friends.

What a sweet moment!!  We're so thankful for all the wonderful friends Joshua has in the students -- he clearly loves all of you.  :)  Thank you all for this wonderful family photo!

Good Friday / Easter 2011

On the evening of Good Friday, we had our annual interfellowship service of readings and music -- always a beautiful night of worshiping together and refocusing on the Cross.  I'm always moved by the music, challenged by the scripture and message, and refreshed by the fellowship.  (A big thanks to Bonnie and Andrew for watching Joshua and enabling both me and David to be at the service this year!)

Then on Easter Sunday, we celebrated the resurrection with a sunrise service on Frist south lawn.  Sunrise was a bit too early for Joshua this year -- now that he's on a dependable morning schedule, we wouldn't dream of waking him to take him out earlier than usual!  So I have no photos of the sunrise service... I hear it was beautiful this year, though.  Easter being so late in the year, it actually wasn't as cold and wet as it usually is for the sunrise service!

The service is followed by breakfast in Dillon Gym, and then a service of Christian baptism down in Dillon pool.  This year, five women were baptized, each giving testimony to the work God has been doing in their lives.  What a wonderful time of remembering God's grace in our own lives, and standing alongside those making a public declaration of faith!

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Catching up, in photos!

Yikes.  Has it really been over a month since our last post?  Sorry for the long blogging silence... It's been something of a hectic month for all three of us, what with my job really kicking into high gear, David being slammed with year-end events, and Joshua doing his high-energy toddler thing...  :)

But not to fear -- we're still around, and haven't given up on this old blog yet!  I've got a few catch-up posts in the works, but wanted to dive back in with a collection of Joshua photos from April.  Enjoy!

He makes this face a lot when he's thinking, or about to engage in some mischief...

"I have no idea how these books ended up on the floor..."

Life is much better with an identical object in each hand!

Eating a peanut butter sandwich like a big boy!

Very excited about his sandwich and peas, which only sometimes end up in his hair

Still unsure about this "grass" nonsense; much happier with daddy on the sidewalk

Running around in his diaper on a hot evening, ready for his share of the PF Chang's takeout

More substantive updates to come this weekend.  Thanks for sticking around through this latest Keddiebears dry spell!
